Peer support

We can help you find support from other people who understand the issues, fears and challenges you are facing.

Peer support is a confidential, anonymous, telephone programme staffed by volunteers who have themselves experienced problems with gambling or worked through the impact of someone else's gambling.

You can call to be a part of the programme or agree to being referred by a professional. You will then be assessed to match you up with an appropriate volunteer.

Your peer volunteer will call you weekly, fortnightly or monthly, as often as you need.

All our volunteers have had experience in dealing with their own gambling problem or have worked through the impact of someone else's gambling problem.

Lifeline provides comprehensive training for all volunteers who also receive supervision, debriefing and ongoing support from the programme coordinator.
